At least eight people were killed Sunday when two passenger vans collided in eastern Kenya, police and Red Cross said.
Twenty-one others were wounded in the accident in eastern province at about 1.00pm (1000 GMT), a police commander said.
"They have all received first aid and are supposed to be airlifted to (the capital) Nairobi for specialised treatment," said Titus Mungou, spokesman for Kenya Red Cross Society.
Road accidents are common in Kenya, where roads are poor and drivers often flout the highway code.
